Sekhargutok Monastery
Located in Lhodrak County, the monastery was built in about 1080 A.D. According to Milarepa Biography, the monastery actually a Nine Stored Castle was constructed by the famous Buddhism master Mharpa'disciple Milarepa, who painstakingly constructed it in order to atone for his sin. Either in the history of Buddhism sects or in the fields of the architecture or the painting art in Tibet, this monastery has taken a very important position.
Lhalong Monastery
Located at Monda in Lhodrak County, it was built by Karma Sect in 1155, the 5th Dalai Lama converted this monastery to a Gelukpa Sect one. In the mid 17th century, it was confered upon the manors, lands and many subjects. Because of the special favour bestowed by the 5th Dalai Lama and emperors of Qing Dynasty, this monastery had enjoyed great pretige in Tibet even in Bhutan, and the monastery was also almost known to every family in Tibet for it was in this monastery that the monk Lhalong Pekyi Dorje murdered the last Tibetan king Lhangdama and brought an end to "Tubo Dynasty".
