Helambu trek, a one week trek that can start from and finish in the kathmandu valley, does not offer superb Mountain scenery but is culturally interesting. The maximum in height reached is 3490m and there is plenty of accommodation along the route although it's still a good idea to carry sleeping bag.
The helambu trek, A very easy and short trek start near by the kathmandu city in north called Sudari jal. The trekking in helambu is a very famous with friendly sherpa people in favorite climate. The trail leads the trek to gosainkund lake also need to get a entry as shivapuri Wild life Reserve there. The sundarijal water fall and wild life preserve often attract to the tourist for the sight seeing and kathmandu people and as there is beauty of nature. The trek start from 1300mtrs takes you 3600mtrs in high up, but sometimes you may get 800mtrs from the sea level. People from here are diverse many groups as there are many different climate diverse in the mean time. There we meet several highland Tamang and Sherpa villages, scattered on both sides of the Malemchi Khola. The most important benefit of this trek is that the area is less crowded & free from noise with the comparison to the Annapurna trek or some parts of the Everest treks. Besides, the trek offers a wide range of cultures and spectacular scenery. Helambu Trek - 7 Days , Itinerary : Day 1: kathmandu to chisopani 2300m We will have our breakfast at the hotel and drive by taxi/ bus/ van to sundarijal. Then we gradually start the trek to Mulkharka viewing the water fall, green forest and villages and down the valley( Kathmandu) till to the to the top hill then we descend to the Chisopani. The Mountains view from here are spectacular.
Day 2: Chisopani to Kutumshang 2470m) The Trek today will leads you up and down. After breakfast the trail takes you down to patibhanjyang and up and down to the gul bhanjyang and stony down to the Kutumsang. Over night will be here for the camp.
Day 3: Kutumshang to tharepati 3490m). The trail is on the ridge takes you to Mangen goth through the Populated forest. The view of gosainkunda peak and Langtang lirung is very good from here. We will have our lunch here. After lunch we will continue to Tharepati for the camp from where the branches trails goes to Gosainkunda in the north south. Over night will be here.
Day 4 Tharepati to tarkeghyang 2620m). Today we go down to the Melache gaon and then rapidly up to Tarkegyang. The trail take you much up than down. The village called tarkeghyang is one of best name from the Monastery
Day 5: Tarkeghyang to Sermathang 2620m As we have walk up and down, today also very short down down to Sermathang m but most of time will takes you straight. The easy day. The day will have lots of fun with Sherpa people.
Day 6: Explore the cultur... We will stay/ take a rest here where we can get the definite sherpa culture. The Day spent with the sherpa screw.
Day 7: way down to Melamchi bazaar pul (846m ) and drive by bus to ktm. Today will have our breakfast at our hotel where we have spent two nights already. Then we rapidly down to the Kakani. We can stop for the soft drink and down to the Melamchi Bazaar pul where are bus are on Queue to Kathmandu every two hours different. Overnight will be at the kathmandu hotel.  |
