The Classical Jomsom Muktinath trek is begins from low Place & deepest valley to the High Place following the Kaligandaki river which you takes you on desert part between the soaring Mountain peaks and your distination to the Muktinath, the Holy temple, you get two alnerantives ways to return to Pokhara. You can either steps down the kali gandaki valley or you get flight from Jomsom to Pokhara to ktm. Or your trek can start from High Mountains flying to Jomsom treks to Muktinath and cay back to Pokhara on your foot.
Jomsom-Muktinath Trek , Itinerary :
Day 01: Drive Kathmandu to Pokhara (6 hours scenic drice by tourist bus)
Day 02: Pokhara to Tirkhedunga
We begin our trek at nayapul, driving to the road head. After 15-minutes short walk along the bank of the Modi Khola, we reach Birethanti (1065m and we continue to reach Tikedhuga at 1525m after walking 2:30 hours. This trek offers a short & relatively easy day.
Day 03: Trek to Ghorapani/5 hours
After having Breakfast we climb to Ulleri, Ulleri is a large Magar village at 2070m. Then the trail asced more gently, through fine forest of oak & rhododendron towards Banthanti at 2250m and Nangethanti at 2460m. After an hour walk brings you to Ghorapani at 2775m.
Day 04: Ghorapani to Tatopani/7 hours
Today is our viewing day. We get up around 5 o'clock in the morning and begin trek to Pun hill taking an hour climbing. The view point offer you one of the best Himalayan range with amazing sunrise view can be seen very closely. After observing the wonderful Himalayas views, we return from Poon Hill & we will have nice hot breakfast. After breakfast, we continue descend towards Tatopani between Ghorepani and tatopani there are many village and hotels as Chitre at 2390m, Sikha, Ghara at 2390m. We should cross a suspension bridge in Kaligandaki river before Tatopani at 1130m.
Day 05: Tatopani to Kalopani/6 hours
Today, the trail continues up the Kali Gandaki gorge. This is considered to be the deepest in the world which is situated as it is between the two 8000m peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Which can be continue to the stunning waterfall at Rupse chhahara, Ghasa, at 2080m, Lete at 3470m and arrieved for the night at Kalopani 2560m.
Day 06: Kalopani to Marpha/6 hours
Before entering Larjung at 2560m The trail continues on a short distance to the intersting village of Khobang with its narrow alleyways. Then will have our lunch at the ancient Thakali village of Tukuche at 2590m. We continue towards Marpha at 2665m. There we will visit a superb Nyingmapa Buddhist gompa.
Day 07: Marpha to Kagbenin/5 hours
We still have to follow the Kaligandaki river to reach Jomsom at 2713m. Jonsom is a large, bustiling settlement, & it is the administrative centre of the region that contains the airport, army camp, & numerous hotels, shops, banks & government offices. We then continue to Eklai Bhatti at 2730m, and Kagbeni at 2810m which is situated at the junction of the Jhong Khola & the Kali Gandaki, the northernmost village that can be visited without a permit to continue on to Mustang. This village fascinates rich Tibetan cultures & their unique hospitality, influences us mush.
Day 08: Kagbeni to Muktinath/5 hours
We make a steep climb up the Jhong Khola valley leaving Kagbeni, we then join the direct trail to Muktinath just below Khingar at 3200m. From here trail continues high above the Jhong Khola to the imposing village of Jharkot at 3500m which is well worth exploring. We, therefore, take a break here for lunch before continuing on to Muktinath. As we leave Jharkot, the trail climbs up to our ultimate destination of Muktinath at 3800m. Muktinath is a pilgrimage center for Buddhisht and Hindus. There we can see Tibetan traders as well as sadhus from the far south of India. There is shrines in a grove of trees including a Buddhists gompa & the Vishnu temple of Jwalamai. An old temple nearby shelters a spring and natural gas jets that provide Muktinath's famous eternal flame. It's the earth-water-fire combination that accounts for Muktinath's great religious significance.
Day 09: Trek back to Jomsom/3hrs
Day 10: Fly back to Pokhara (about 20 minutes shor, but scenic flight)
Day 11: Drive back to Kathmandu/7 hours
